In the field of modern food packaging, thin-walled food containers are popular because they are light, save materials and meet a variety of storage needs. So, how is such a practical container formed?
Thin-walled food containers are usually produced by injection molding or blow molding.
Injection molding is one of the more common methods. First, carefully selected high-quality plastic raw materials, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., are added to the hopper of the injection molding machine. These plastic particles are gradually heated to a molten state in the hopper to form a plastic melt with good fluidity. Then, the injection molding machine injects the melt into a pre-designed mold through a screw. The shape and size of these molds determine the final shape of the container. In the mold, the plastic melt is rapidly cooled and solidified under certain pressure and temperature conditions. After a period of shaping, when the specified strength and hardness are reached, the mold is opened, and the prototype of the thin-walled food container is born. After that, some post-processing and inspection are performed on it to remove the excess parts to ensure that the appearance and size of the container meet the standards.
Blow molding is also a commonly used process. First, the plastic raw material is made into a tubular plastic parison, and then the parison is heated to a softened state. By blowing high-pressure air into the parison, under the influence of air pressure and the restriction of the mold, the parison will gradually fit the inner wall of the mold, continue to expand and finally cool and shape into the desired container shape.
In the entire formation process of thin-walled food containers, the selection of raw materials, the design of molds and the precise control of production processes are all crucial. Only by strictly controlling every link can we produce thin-walled food containers with stable quality and in line with food packaging safety standards to meet consumers' needs for food storage and protection. With the continuous advancement of technology, the production of thin-walled food containers will also be more efficient and high-quality.
